Twelve ways to use InkBeepAI

The gesture is the same every time: press your key, speak, press again. The words are typed into whatever app is in front of you — no window to open, no button to find, nothing uploaded. What changes is the situation.

Whatever has focus receives the text: a document, a chat box, a form field, someone else's web app. There is no InkBeepAI window in the way. The exception is a window running as administrator, which Windows blocks for any tool without admin rights.

Where it earns its place

Twelve situations where it fits. Each card shows the kind of text that lands where your cursor is.

Clinical notes between patients

Notes written in the two minutes between appointments, straight into the system you already use. Recognition happens on the machine in front of you, so no audio is transmitted to a third party you would otherwise have to account for.

Legal drafting and attendance notes

Attendance notes while the call is still fresh, first passes at correspondence, long clauses you would rather say than type. Privileged material stays on your own disk because nothing is sent anywhere to be recognised.

Therapy and counselling records

Session notes are about as sensitive as written text gets. Dictating them keeps the writing-up short without introducing a processor between you and the record.

Journalism and interview write-ups

Impressions captured on the walk back, before they fade. Source protection fails quietly, and an upload you forgot about is still an upload — so there isn't one.

Commit messages and code review

The prose around code — commit bodies, pull request descriptions, the review comment explaining why. It types into your editor, your browser and most terminals, because it types into whatever has focus.

Support replies at volume

Forty replies a day, each slightly different. Spoken shortcuts expand into full paragraphs through Replacements, so the boilerplate is one word and the specifics are yours.

Email and chat on a heavy day

The messages that are quick to think and slow to type. Your clipboard is put back afterwards — text, formatted text, images and file lists — so dictating rarely costs you what you had copied. Formats belonging to one particular app are not restored.

First drafts of long-form writing

Speaking a rough draft and editing it afterwards suits a lot of writers better than staring at an empty page. The blank-page problem is largely a typing problem.

Working with an injured or painful hand

RSI, tendonitis, a fracture, arthritis, a recent operation. Dictation moves the work off your hands without moving it off your computer. One key, pressed to start and pressed again to stop — and it is remappable if the default is awkward for you.

Field work with no signal at all

Site inspections, surveys, a basement, a train through a tunnel, a plane. There is no connection in the transcription path, so "no signal" is not a state this app has.

Research and literature notes

Reading with one hand on a book and the other free. Say what a paper argues while it is still in front of you, into whichever notes tool you already keep.

Regulated and locked-down machines

Plenty of corporate and government builds disable online speech services outright, which stops cloud dictation working at all. On-device recognition has nothing to disable.

InkBeepAI is software, not a compliance programme. Whether it fits any particular professional obligation is an assessment you or your organisation has to make — what we can tell you precisely is what the software does, which is the input that assessment needs.

The three things that make all of these work

It types where you already are

The text goes into whatever window has focus, bar one running as administrator. No app to switch to, no dictation box to copy out of, nothing to paste.

Recognition runs on your own PC

Both speech models ship inside the download. Nothing is fetched at runtime and nothing is uploaded, so the same gesture works with the network unplugged.

Spoken shortcuts become full text

Replacements turn a short phrase you choose into whatever string you want — a signature, an address, a standard paragraph. You define them; nothing is guessed.

Same gesture, wherever you work
